A Dream Without Hunger

by François David, illustrated by Olivier Thiébaut

25 x25 cm / 48 p. / 14 € / Age: 8

Today, all subjects, even the most serious ones (war, death...) are treated in books for youth. But few non documentary books evoke hunger, of which so many victims in the world are children.

Poetry allows us to keep a precious distance, through a careful choice of rhythms and words. Thanks to Olivier Thiébaut’s singular indirect approach which suggests with the help of objects, and does not show the children’s emaciated bodies, the book can approach this important topic.
